One of my favorite books to read Chase when he was a baby was Horton Hatches the Egg. According to Wikipedia, "The moral of the story is be responsible, even when it's difficult."
Repeated by Horton the elephant throughout the book is, "I meant what I said, and I said what I meant, an elephant's faithful one hundred percent."
Chase had been reminding me that I promised to take him to Devils Lake when we completed potty training. Unfortunately for Chase, his potty training happened to coincide with my 9th month of pregnancy. I then had to promise him that I'd take him when the "baby came out". Well, Wednesday I finally showed Chase that I meant what I said and I said what I meant, his mommy is faithful 100%! For his reward, he rode the boat, golf cart, a couple riding lawn mowers, and a moped. His grandparents are still recovering from his visit.
Leah celebrated her 1st month birthday in Devils Lake as well. We also celebrated at home before we left. I know that Chase will REALLY love his baby sister if we continue to buy a cake every time she turns a month older.
